Magdalene and Sexual Healing

It is very difficult to separate the story of Mary Magdalene from historical facts, legends, political intrigue and New Ager's projections. French ancient Merovingian Kings also claimed to be the descendants of the Christ/Magdalene blood lineage. Both the Knight Templars and Cathars of France believed Magdalene was the beloved of Christ. The Cathars ran into trouble believing that the direct experience with the Divine was far more important then the written words.  This began the Abigenisan Crusade which was the beginning of the Inquisition killing many thousands of people.

We still to this day do not have the proof that Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene. But if we look at the pagan roots of what the Rome Catholic Church was built upon we may understand why Jesus Christ became a celibate savior and Magdalene was written out of history until the last few decades.  The Rome Catholic Church was built on the foundation of ancient Rome's belief system, in ancient Rome they had temples that honored  the Virgin Goddess. Virginity was one of the many vows some of the priestess of those temples took.   It was not rare in Rome during this time to have Eunuchs that could be trusted working in the temples with the priestesses.  Church politics being politics creating a Catholic clergy that took celibate vows also. This would ensure the wealth of the clergy to stay within  the church rather than being wasted on the children of the clergy. The separation of Sex and Spirituality created a society that was cut off from their bodies their organs and not integrated into their spirituality.

Celibacy was not a common practice within the Jewish religion, actually the exact opposite. Jewish Rabbis were encourage to marry. The old testament says: "And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth." 

Putting all theories and projections aside,  Mary Magdalene has now been redeemed and put in her rightful place along side of Jesus Christ.  A Divine Couple archetype brings a whole different picture to the life of Christ.

But at the same time with all the Magdalene information resurfacing again during this time it is important not to misinterprete our personal experience and project it on Magdalene archetype. Magdalene statues are often found in France with Black Madonna icons.  Both archetypes are associated with the cult of Isis.  Magdalene is the doorway of sacred sexuality, sexual healing, death and also transformation.  Her mysteries will take you deep in the hidden parts of yourself and redeem those parts that have been hidden away and bring them to the light for healing.

Joseph Campbell quote: “Half the people in the world think that the metaphors of their religious traditions, for example, are facts. And the other half contends that they are not facts at all. As a result we have people who consider themselves believers because they accept metaphors as facts, and we have others who classify themselves as atheists because they think religious metaphors are lies."

 Note:  This Magdalene image I have created is from the main altar inside the Church of  Mary Magdalene in Paris. The icon actually looks pregnant. When standing at the open doors of the Church of Mary Magdalene directly aligned to the altar you can see down the street is the Egyptian obelisk located at the center of  Place de la Concorde. The obelisk is the phallus of Osiris fashioned by the Goddess Isis.  What can I say, It is French city planning. 

I then superimpose the image onto an old variety of roses in my garden called "Love Song"  Magdalene's fiery rose womb in this image  is also the flower of the Love Goddess Aphrodite. The Rose is a universal symbol of Love. When love, spirituality, and sex come together we have the opportunity to experience Sacred Sexuality.
