The Spirit of Mugwort

There was a time in my life when I lived in Woodstock and winter was coming...and I was a seasonal gardener and had to figure out how I was going to feed my children that winter. I was gathering apple mint in a half acre field of mint..and I looked down at my feet and there was a $1 bill. At that very moment I decided to make Dream Pillows. I gathered all my herbs on a bike with big baskets. I would prayer before I went to collect because I needed to gather from places that had large qualities of one herb so if I took ten percent of the plants it would not effect the herb family. I would pray and then hop on my bike and be guided to a huge mugwort field, or 60 plants of wild vervain. And I had a huge field of wild apple mint to collect. I would come home and dry all the plants as a canopy of herbs on the ceiling. The kids loved the smell of the house when they walked through the door. Then two people came to visit me to take them on an herb walk. Michael Anderson and his wife Hilary. They were master designers of making beautiful suits and they traveled the world buying the very best fabrics. One day a big box came to me filled with the highest quality of Irish Linen from their suit making. Next, I visited an upholstery store. They gave me many of their old samples of fine Italian tapestry. I made over a hundred mugwort herbal dream pillow that year and sold them for Christmas presents. It was a wonderful cottage business and kept my family feed all winter long. I was truly Blessed by Mother Mugwort. 1988 was the year.
